Across Partners was present at the CIFIT investment conference in Xiamen, which hosted a large-scale M&A seminar focusing exclusively on Chinese outbound investment. The seminar, hosted at Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center, opened its doors to companies looking to invest outside China, as well as other relevant stakeholders.
The seminar confirmed that Chinese outbound M&A is a relative new opportunity for Chinese companies, which are facing an increasingly competitive domestic and sophisticated market place.
Therefore more and more Chinese companies must decide between investing in R&D or acquiring advanced European or American technology to keep up.
Several conference participants noted that long-term strategy is becoming increasingly important when looking to do outbound investment, and furthermore stressed the importance of finding qualified local advisors, familiar with local markets and cultures in the target area.
