The Danish speaker manufacturer, Libratone, has been sold to an Asian investor group for a more than a 100 million DKK (undisclosed), coinciding with the launch of the company’s products on the Chinese market.

– We see Asian as a major opportunity with the design and products we have. The fit fantastically well into an Asian context,” says CEO and co-founder, Tommy Andersen to Danish newspaper, Jyllands Posten.

– The sale, he continues, means that we now can globalize the company. If we are going to launch a powerful audio brand globally, it requires a solid investor base. We are getting that now.”

Tommy Andersen has personally invested in the new set-up together with two other Danes who have re-invested in the company. Selected employees will also be given investment opportunities in the future.

Earlier this year Danish audio producer, Scan-Speak was sold to a new owner from Taiwan.
